FAQs

  • You can expect to receive the online album of your edited images within 2 weeks from the session date. In some cases, it may be as quick as 1 week, depending on workload and editing requests. I prioritise providing high-quality images while ensuring attention to detail and artistic touch. I will keep you informed about the estimated delivery time and any updates on the editing progress. If you have specific time constraints or special requests, please let me know, and I'll do my best to accommodate them.

  • I lean towards candid shots, as they often capture more natural and authentic moments. However, I do understand the importance of getting some posed shots, especially with everyone facing the camera.

During the session, I typically start with the posed shots and then let the session flow naturally. If you have young children in your family, I will follow their lead and capture genuine moments as they unfold. Please note that the session won't involve strict posing, but rather prompts and guidance to create a relaxed and unscripted atmosphere.

The focus is on capturing real emotions and connections rather than stiff poses. By encouraging natural interactions and expressions, we can create photographs that truly reflect the personality and dynamics of your family.

  • When photographing families with young children, I prioritize following their lead and capturing genuine moments of joy and interaction. I understand that young children may have their own pace and preferences, so I adapt to their energy and create a comfortable environment for them. I use prompts and guidance throughout the session to encourage natural interactions and expressions, ensuring that everyone feels at ease and has an enjoyable experience.

  • I understand that you may be interested in obtaining RAW files from your photography session. However, I do not provide RAW files as part of my service. Allow me to explain what a RAW file is and why it is not typically provided to clients.

A RAW file is an unprocessed and uncompressed image file format that captures all the data recorded by the camera's image sensor. It contains a wealth of information, including details about color, exposure, and other image parameters. RAW files provide photographers with greater flexibility during the editing process, as they allow for more extensive adjustments and fine-tuning.

However, RAW files require specialized software or editing programs to open and process them. They are also significantly larger in size compared to formats like JPEG. This can make them less convenient for sharing, printing, or displaying directly without post-processing.

When you book a photography session with me, you can be assured that I will carefully select and professionally edit a variety of images from the session to create a comprehensive gallery for you. These edited images will be delivered in a high-quality format, such as JPEG, which is widely compatible with various devices and platforms.

By providing you with the edited images, you will still have a wide range of photographs to choose from and enjoy. The editing process ensures that the final images reflect my artistic vision and expertise, resulting in a collection that represents the best moments and aesthetics of your session.

If you have specific editing requests or preferences for certain images, please let me know, and I will do my best to accommodate them within the scope of my editing capabilities.

I appreciate your understanding regarding the provision of RAW files. Rest assured, you will receive a thoughtfully edited gallery that showcases the highlights of your session.

  • Editing refers to the process of enhancing and refining digital images using software tools like Adobe Lightroom or Photoshop. It involves adjusting various aspects of the photo, such as color, exposure, contrast, sharpness, and cropping, to achieve a desired visual outcome.

When I mention that the images you receive have been "colour edited," it means that I have carefully adjusted the colour tones and overall colour balance to achieve a specific look or style. This is where my personal touch as a photographer comes into play, as editing choices can greatly influence the mood, aesthetics, and overall feel of the final images.

Each photographer has their own unique editing style, which contributes to their artistic vision and sets them apart from others. The editing process allows me to bring out the best in each image, enhance its visual impact, and ensure consistency throughout your gallery.

Through editing, I aim to create images that reflect the atmosphere and emotions captured during the session, while also adding my artistic interpretation. The final edited images you receive will showcase my signature style and attention to detail, aligning with the examples you have seen on my website.

By utilizing editing software and applying my skills and creative vision, I can transform the raw image data into stunning, polished photographs that you can proudly display and cherish.

If you have any specific editing preferences or ideas in mind, please feel free to communicate them to me, and I will do my best to accommodate your requests while staying true to my artistic style.

  • The ownership of the work product is typically outlined in the client agreement and print release provided after booking a photography session with me. While you have certain permissions and usage rights, such as sharing the images, posting them on social media, and printing them, the copyright of the work product remains with the photographer. This means that the photographer has the right to display and use the images in their portfolios, websites, social media, or for other promotional purposes.

However, I value your privacy and understand that some clients may prefer not to be featured on the photographer's website or social media platforms. If you wish to keep your images private and not be featured, please inform me, and I will respect your request.

It is recommended to carefully review the client agreement and print release to have a clear understanding of the ownership and usage rights associated with the images taken during the session. If you have any specific concerns or questions regarding the ownership of the images, I am here to address them.

  • Your online gallery will be available for 28days, so please download and back up the images during this time.

After 8 weeks, the images may be removed from the photographer's hard drive. It's important to create multiple backups to ensure their safety. The photographer may retain some images for marketing purposes as per the client agreement.

Please remember to download and back up your images within the provided timeframe to avoid any potential loss of access to the gallery.

  • The $100 deposit required to secure your date is non-refundable, as it represents the reservation of the specific date and time for the photography service.

If you need to cancel the session with less than 7 days' notice until the scheduled shoot, the client will be responsible for the full payment.

However, in the event that the photographer initiates the cancellation, all monies paid, including the deposit fee, will be returned to the client within 7 business days from the time of cancellation.

Please be aware of the cancellation policy when booking a session to ensure that both parties are clear on the expectations and responsibilities regarding cancellations.

  • I understand that unforeseen circumstances may arise, such as a child falling ill or other unexpected events. Therefore, I allow for one rescheduling of the session without any penalty. However, any additional changes made after the initial rescheduling may incur a fee.

In the case of outdoor sessions, if there is inclement weather, such as heavy rain or other unfavorable conditions, we will reschedule the session at no additional cost. This decision will be made at least 24 hours before the scheduled session to allow for proper planning.

It's important to note that cloudy or overcast weather does not typically affect the final outcome of the photographs. Therefore, we will proceed with the session as planned in such weather conditions.

I understand the importance of capturing moments in the best possible conditions, and I strive to be flexible and accommodating when it comes to rescheduling. If you need to reschedule or have concerns about the weather or any other circumstances, please contact me as soon as possible, and we will work together to find a suitable solution.

Please refer to the client agreement or contact me directly for any specific details or clarification regarding the reschedule policy for your photography session.
